NEW PLYMOUTH - Users of the Farmer's Supply Co-op in New Plymouth may soon see some new faces, depending on what services they seek.
Board President Gaylen Lee confirmed Farmer's Supply Co-op is in negotiations with two operations interested in leasing out the fertilizer portion of the New Plymouth business. Lee refused to identify the companies in negotiation. He said more information would become available after a meeting of the Board of Directors for the small, New Plymouth mainstay.
"The store is still open," Lee said in a telephone interview.
"We still offer hardware, feed, salt and fuel at the store. I really don't want to say much more until after the meeting," he said.
Numerous local New Plymouth residents have voiced concern the facility was closing in it's entirety.
Steve Mendiola, spokesman for the Ontario Supply Co-op, stated the issue in New Plymouth had nothing to do with the Ontario location.
"We are business as usual," Mendiola said.
