MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Andy Macfarlane hit a solo home run, helping the Treasure Valley baseball team salvage a NWAACC East Division split Wednesday against Big Bend.
The Vikings took the opener, 6-4, before TVCC (18-9 overall, 9-5 East) took the nightcap 5-2.
In the opener, the Chukars left 14 runners on base, including bases loaded situations in the second and eighth innings.
"We'd have gotten two if we could have gotten hits at key times," Treasure Valley head coach Russ Wright said.
The Chukars, who host Wenatchee Valley Saturday, were also hampered by four balk calls and three dropped third strikes, which allowed the Vikings to extend innings.
"We didn't get the breaks," Wright said. We didn't play poorly, we just didn't play well."
In the nightcap, Macfarlane hit his fourth blast of the season in the fifth inning and Drew Echanis, Aaron Sutton, Mike Schwartz and Nick Cudaback all drove in runs
